District 5400 Scholarship Available for College Freshman

Rotary District 5400 is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2017-2018 academic year. This scholarship will benefit a college freshman in the 2017-2018 academic year. (The candidate should be preparing to start college in August or September 2017) The freshman recipient may, under the terms and conditions of the grant, be eligible to continue to receive the scholarship for up to 3 additional years. MaKia Perez of Rigby was awarded this scholarship in 2015-2016, the first year of this award, and Addie White of Boise (Boise High) received the award last year in 2016-2017.
 
The completed applications must be received on or before October 1, 2017 and must be submitted using the scholarship application that is attached to this email and is also located on the District 5400 website. Scholarship instructions, eligibility requirements, and restrictions are outlined on the scholarship application. The District 5400 Scholarship Committee, comprised of members throughout the district, will review the candidates and make a final selection no later than November 1, 2017.
 

Eligibility Restrictions--you CANNOT apply for this scholarship if you are:

A Rotarian (including honorary Rotarians) or a spouse of same.

 A child or grandchild of a Rotarian (by blood, legal adoption, or marriage without adoption) or a spouse of same.

 A parent or grandparent (by blood) of a Rotarian.

 An employee of clubs, districts, or other Rotary Entities, or of Rotary International An employee of an agency, organization, or institution that partners with The Rotary Foundation or Rotary International

 A former Rotarian or honorary Rotarian who has terminated their membership within the preceding 36 months

 A person who was ineligible based on their familial relationship to a former Rotarian or honorary Rotarian, for a period of 36 months after termination of their family member’s membership
