Here’s how you can help us Close the Divide for the nearly 200,000 students who have no computer and the nearly 30,000 students who do not have the internet at home.
• Donate spare computers to your regional Close the Divide community activation team (A list of contacts for region are below)
• Donate money to the Internet for Students Emergency Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation (donations are tax exempt). Donations can be designated to provide internet service or buy devices for students. They can also be designated to be spent to help students in a specific school district or charter school
• Volunteer to help on your regional Close the Divide community activation team (the list of chairs is below for your reference)
• Volunteer yourself and/or your employees to help IBE on Close the Divide Day in Idaho which is scheduled for July 28. This volunteer effort could include volunteering at a drop-off location, helping prepare computers for distribution to students or transporting and delivering computers
• You can make your place of business a drop-off location for Close the Divide Day • You can offer storage space for computers awaiting to be distributed to students • Use the social media toolkit we send your way and give Close the Divide a “shout out”
