Emmett Community Playhouse
Last week, John Buck introduced Ginny Bennie representing the Emmett Community Playhouse. The Playhouse has been the recipient of some of our Youth Auction funds. The Playhouse will be doing three productions this year, 2 melodramas and "West Side Story". Their major expense is royalties - for example, West Side Story will cost $2500.00 just for the rights to use it.
Ginny explained the importance of volunteerism to the group. Each year they have more than 300 people involved in one way or another - last year about half of those numbers were youth or teenagers. Youth involvement is important since the High School no longer offers any drama classes or clubs.
