Under the guidance of Bryan Stone, he and several other members of the Rotary Club of Emmett visited third-grade classrooms across all Gem County schools in the past two weeks, including those in Sweet and Ola.
They brought with them what Stone described as a “valuable tool.” Each third grader received a new dictionary along with a Rotary coloring book that explains the mission of Rotary.
The first task they asked the students to complete was to write their names in their dictionaries, reinforcing the significance of having their very own book to cherish and take home. The Rotarians were thrilled to witness the children's excitement, joy, and eagerness to learn.
During their visit, the Rotarians spent a few moments discussing the wonderful knowledge that could be gained from this essential resource, which the students can utilize throughout the years, even into college. They explored the longest word in the dictionary, reviewed the list of U.S. Presidents, and even looked at a couple of pages dedicated to sign language. If you have a third grader, be sure to ask them about their new dictionary!
