Thanksgiving Tuesday, Nov. 20 is the busiest night for both the dinner and the pantry. extra help of both food and people are always welcome.

Other opportunities to volunteer include:

For the dinner on Nov. 20, help is needed to bring a cooked turkey and stuffing, both of which are provided. In addition, desserts and/or salads are also needed. Extra hands are needed to help in the dining room (teens welcome!). Help the night-of is needed between 4-8 p.m. If you would like to help with any part of the meal, let Dennis know at 208-999-1913.

For the pantry, extra hands are needed to fill boxes and carry them to the vehicle. If you would like to help between 3-6:30 p.m., call Daniel at 208-369-7915.

Christmas Cheer Baskets

As one can imagine, the Christmas Cheer Basket Program requires lots of hands to make light work to collect, sort and build boxes of food for about 375 families, as well as toys for their children. Everything collected is distributed to Gem County families, offering the Gift of Hope.

Nov. 16 and 17 is Stuff the Ambulance and Fill the Fire Truck at the local Albertsons and BiMart. Emmett Fire Department collects toys for the fire truck at BiMart. Volunteers are needed on Saturday at Albertsons in one-hour time slots. They will greet people at the door, passing out a suggested list of food.

Dec. 8, Christmas Cheer boxes will be assembled from 9 a.m. to done, usually by noon.

Dec. 15, Christmas Cheer boxes are distributed from 9 a.m. to noon.

If you would like to help with any of the Christmas Cheer programs, call Shelly at 208-739-0212.
