On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, David Little, the project organizer, along with this year’s top rose seller, Perry Jenkins, and Emmett Rotary Club President, Ted Clemons, gathered to present a BIG check for the proceeds from the Annual Rotary Rose Sale, totaling $2,504.80, to Hazel Gorino, a board member of the Gem County Senior and Community Center
The presentation took place before a large lunch crowd at the Senior and Community Center, where attendees expressed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Rotarians.
Did you know that the Annual Rotary Rose Sale began over a decade ago to raise funds for fuel and repairs for the Senior Center’s bus? Initially, some of the first checks issued were less than $1,000. The seniors didn’t ask for much — just a little funding for gas to help transport local seniors to appointments or deliver meals to those unable to get out on their own. Since 2018, the Emmett Rotarians have sold countless roses and contributed over $16,990.00 to the Gem County Senior and Community Center.
So, here’s the deal: if you’re planning to go hunting next fall, why not make your wife or girlfriend happy with a stunning bouquet of long-stemmed roses while you enjoy time with your buddies in the great outdoors? Grab your cell phone right now and set a recurring reminder for August to reach out to a Rotarian from the Emmett Club to place your order for roses for your sweetheart, a family member, your boss, or even yourself. The roses will be available at the end of September or the first week of October—perfect timing for hunting season. Plus, it’s all for a wonderful cause!
