Rotary Club Members,

Surely you’ve had a time in your life when you’ve thought “Man, today’s kids just aren’t prepared for the workforce. I wish I could do something about it!”
Become a Junior Achievement of Idaho’s Classroom Mentor!  Junior Achievement of Idaho is a non-profit organization that uses community and business volunteers to educate students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade in the areas of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.  This is a fantastic “turnkey” volunteer program that will quickly provide you with the knowledge and materials you need to make a huge difference in these kids’ lives.

As a classroom mentor, you will:
·        Teach fun, interactive lessons about business and free enterprise; Commit only a few hours – teach five, 30-minute lessons for elementary programs (grades K-1), five to six, 45-minute lessons for elementary and middle (grades 2-6), or seven to twelve, 45-minute-1 hour lessons for high school classes depending upon the program;
·        Schedule classroom visits to fit into your schedule (weekly, daily for a week, twice a week, etc.);
·        Be provided with classroom materials, step-by-step lesson plans and a 1 hour training session to ensure that you are comfortable entering the classroom;
·        Select a grade level and school location, then coordinate visits directly with a classroom teacher – all for your convenience;
·        Provide relevance to what students learn; show students the link between education and future opportunity.
