I had the opportunity to attend the Rotary District 5400 Mid-Winter Assembly with Terry Jones last Saturday in Boise.  It was an informative and very interesting day as members from clubs in our area came together to discuss items that were of concern, learn from each other and be reminded of things that needed to be done soon in order to qualify for the district awards which are presented at the conference in Sun Valley in May.  We learned about global grants and district grants as well as club vitality and relevancy.

One of the highlights for me was a U-tube presentation by John Maxwell on the 5 Levels of Leadership.  Starting at the bottom level of Position and moving through Permission to Production, People and Pinnacle.    He states that leadership in an on-going, growing process and you are on different levels with different people.

District Governor Elect Jim Hogge is requesting that clubs do a Quality Control Measure next year by logging the dollars spent, the volunteer hours used and the specific  outcomes of our fundraisers and events.  A form will be made available for this.

All in all, a great day.   I encourage everyone who can to attend next year!
