Our own Perry Jenkins was one of the award recipients! Congratulations Perry!

More than 100 outstanding volunteers from throughout the state were honored Thursday by Gov. Butch Otter and first lady Lori Otter at the 10th annual Governor's Brightest Star awards ceremony at Boise State University.

The 106 volunteers were nominated for their contributions in six categories — corporation, small business, organization, school, student and individual. All were nominated by fellow Idahoans for their extraordinary volunteer efforts.

"Volunteers are ever more important and valued as part of the foundation of recovery in our state and the nation," Otter said. "The first lady and I are honored to be here recognizing so many selfless Idahoans."
