Rick's Comment on Conference

Mary and I had a great time at the conference. It was the first one for me and found it kind of re-energizing. The talk Princewill gave was outstanding and made me proud to be part of an organization that is making a real difference in peoples' lives. Even though I already new of the water projects, putting real human faces to it makes me realize exactly how important this work is.

One thing that really stuck with me was learning that the "Matching" grant from the Gates Foundation was paid upfront. It says a lot that Bill Gates has the kind of faith in Rotary not only to entrust that much money, but giving it up front, trusting that Rotary will do its part to raise the match over the next three years.
