This is so awesome! Emmett Rotary President, John Buck, presented Rotary’s Service Above Self Award to Darryl Peterson, a new member of the Rotary Club of Emmett during the Rotary luncheon meeting on Thursday, February 8, 2024
. President John presented Darryl with the Service Above Self Certificate and pin to recognize him for his splendid service. Even before Darryl was inducted as a Rotarian, he helped the Rotary Club with community service projects. He helped dish up plates and swept floors at the Senior Citizens Center for the Emmett Friendship Coalition dinners. Also, he took the initiative to go shopping as well as assist with wrapping gifts for our adopted families at Christmas time. On top of all that, he has been a regular helper at the weekly cardboard recycling project, even during those days when the temperatures were freezing, and the cardboard was covered with snow! Rotary’s Motto of Service Above Self “conveys the philosophy of unselfish volunteer service” according to the website, which Darryl is truly demonstrating, along with kindness and friendship.
