Seven Emmett Rotarians, and some spouses, attended the District 5400 Annual Conference in Sun Valley last weekend. As usual, it was a fun weekend! the Sun Valley Resort does a great job - the meals were delicious! We heard about AfricAid, Semilla Nueva, Cowboy Ethics and much more. Larry Roberts, from KBOI, did a great job as M.C. He sure has a lot of jokes up his sleeve! Our free time on Saturday afternoon was spent wine tasting, cooking, bike riding and swimming. We did not win the Humanity in Motion Award this year - lost by 1/2 point! But we did take first place in some categories and came home with a $300 check from the District.

We didn't win any of the raffle prizes. The cruise was won by someone from Twin Falls. Raffle ticket sales came in at $48,400, net of expenses the District made a profit of $36,400! In the 8 years since the raffle program has been in place, the District has profited $357,000!! Of that amount, 25% goes to the clubs to subsidize their cost of attendance, 25% goes to District youth programs and 50% is used to match Paul Harris contributions.

Attending were John and Linda Biggs, Bryan and Ann Stone, Tonja Hyder, Vicky and Dennis Page, Rod DeArmond, Rick and Mary Walth, Terry and Dottie Jones.
