The Rotary Club of Emmett was one of two clubs in our district selected by Rotary International to pilot the Innovative and Flexible program.  Our submitted plan included meeting one evening a month, replacing the luncheon meeting that day, to have a brief meeting and community service project.  The second half of our plan was to allow co-workers/spouses/family members to attend a Rotary meeting in place of a Rotarian.  The Rotarian would get credit for attending and the co-worker/spouse/family member would get an introduction to Rotary, who we are and what we do.

Our Innovative and Flexible Program is six months old at this time and we have gained one new Rotarian from those efforts.  Special thanks must go to the committee of David Thompson, Vicky Page, Ammon Anderson, Chad Taylor, Kent Adams, Terry Jones, John Buck and Kathy Buck for their work on the Pilot.  ALL ROTARIANS are invited to become part of the committee and all ideas are welcome!

The annual Youth Benefit Dinner and Auction, that undertook a huge facelift last year with our Flip Flops and Flamingos theme, is well on it's way to becoming another successful fundraiser for the youth of Gem County!  It is never too late to become involved.  Dinner tickets will be available this week at the Rotary meeting for those of you wanting to purchase some or sell some and VIP/Corporate Sponsorships are still available by contacting Bryan "Doc" Stone or Tim Fleming.  Our Flamingos are presenting Superheroes and Villians in the Emmett City Park on May 7 with the pre-function beginning at 3:00 pm.  The dinner and auction will begin at 5:00 pm.  Again we have the services of professional auctioneers who donate their time and talent to our cause.  This is truly an evening you will want to attend.  Bring your family and friends!  Tickets cost $50 each.

We are a member of Rotary District 5400 comprised of over 1800 members and 43 clubs.  If you want to attend a district training, the mid-winter assembly (March 26 in Boise), the annual conference (May 13-15 in Sun Valley), the Leadership Institute, etc. our club will pay your registration fees.  Lodging is on your own.

We are honored to have one of our members, Terry Jones, being installed as District Governor elect at this year's conference in Sun Valley.  That means that next year, May 2017, the Emmett Club will be the organizers for the District annual conference.  Plans are already underway for this huge event and everyone's help will be needed.  Watch your weekly bulletin for more information once we return from this year's conference.

We are always open for more ideas for fundraising and just "fun" raising!  Be an active part of YOUR ROTARY!!!
