Herd Bull says- "Things are Going to be Different"
Last week's annual Installation Banquet at the Circle G. Ranch, attended by 17 members and their guests, was a fun evening of great food, spectacular entertainment and boring speeches. Ron B., as usual, did his stellar job as M. C., likening our club to a "Parallel Universe" in which things do not always appear as they seem.
Incoming President Terry From the Dairy Jones, after thanking his new wife Dottie for her patience, let us know, in no uncertain terms, that he was the Herd Bull and that "things were going to be different". Mainly, that we'd use a cow bell to begin our meetings. He wants us to "Take the Time" (TTT) to say thank you, do a good deed, help a child or a senior and enjoy Rotary.
M. C. Ron, reminding us of Marilyn's coronation as "Queen" a few years ago, referred to the night's activities as an Inauguration, as opposed to the more plebian Installation. Reaching into his Home Federal Bag of Tricks, he presented hobby horses, fake mustaches, crowns and photos of cow's behinds.
Outgoing President Fry, choking back alligator tears, told us how proud he was of us Rotarians. He said we'd changed people's lives and that we had fulfilled our responsibilities in the four avenues of Rotary service. He was especially proud of our collective support of the Rotary Foundation, where we had reached 143% of our goal. In his final act as President, Bob was pleased to present some awards:
