Shawn Charters updates Economic Devel
Last week's speaker was Shawn Charters, Gem County's Economic Development Professional. Most of her energies of late have gone into the development and marketing of the Shadow Butte Industrial Park. This is the second major project of the Shadow Butte Development Corp. (The first was the $350,000 Patriot Center). Twenty two lots have been completed, 16 of those have been sold. There are two that should be under construction as we speak - STP Concrete batch plant and IDEA Demolition. The remaining 42 aces in Phase II is currently for sale since the County does not want to be in the development business after all.
Other projects that the Development Corp has supported include the Gem County Museum, the fence at the Airport/golf course, downtown holiday banners and the trash cans and benches soon to be delivered to the new Husky Corner Park.
